Image Compress

The uploaded images are automatically compressed and a smaller WebP copy is generated to speed up the loading of front-end images.

"## Function

• ** Compress in the browser before uploading ** : First, scale the image proportionally in the browser and re-encode it before uploading to avoid upload failure due to exceeding the PHP upload limit.
• ** Server-side bottom-line compression ** : After the upload is completed, compress it once more to cover situations that the browser side has not handled (such as the script being disabled or other programs calling the upload interface).
• ** Automatically generate a copy of WebP ** : The original image remains unchanged while generating a copy of '.webp 'with the same name; Browsers that support WebP automatically load copies, while older browsers continue to load the compressed jpg/png.
• ** Gallery Overview ** : Displays the total number of images, the number of images that have been converted to WebP, the number of images that have not been converted, and the data saved by WebP.
• ** Single Image Conversion ** : Filter in the image library by status, format or keyword, perform conversion on individual images, and view the compression record of each image.
• ** One-click batch conversion ** : Scan the images within the site in batches, compress and generate WebP, with progress display; All the pictures can also be re-converted.
• ** Retain a transparent background ** : Images with transparent channels remain transparent and will not be compressed into a black background.
• ** Conversion Record ** : Records the source of each compression and conversion, the volume before and after compression, and the space saved. Records can be cleared with one click.

Use

1. Enter the left side of the background ** Function → Image Library **. The page is divided into three parts: "Image Library", "Batch Conversion", and "Conversion Record".
2. In the "Image Library", filter or sort by status, format, or keyword. Click on the statistics card to quickly filter out the corresponding images.
3. When using "Batch Conversion" for the first time, click "One-click Conversion" to add WebP copies of the existing images on the site. It takes longer when there are more pictures.
4. A single image can be directly converted in the "Image Library". On the "Batch Conversion" page, you can directly adjust the image quality and save it. The already generated WebP needs to be re-converted to be generated according to the new quality.
5. After that, no operation is required to upload new pictures. Both the browser and the server will handle it automatically.
