# Cash on Delivery

When enabled, customers can select Cash on Delivery at checkout. Once confirmed, the order follows this workflow:

`Unpaid → Cash on delivery awaiting shipment → Shipped → Completed`

- Stock is reserved and product sales are updated when cash on delivery is confirmed.

- Cancelling an order that is awaiting shipment restores its stock.

- Completing the shipped order records the collected payment in the order payment record.

- Customer-facing instructions can be configured for every installed language.

- Multiple eligible countries can be configured, with any number of states/provinces selected per country.

- Leaving the states empty allows the entire selected country; leaving all country rules empty removes the location restriction.

Checkout updates Cash on Delivery availability from the current delivery address and validates the location again when the order is submitted.
